The Buchanan High School district is one of the most prestigious and sought after areas in the Clovis school district. The school opened in 1991 and is the third school that was built in the Clovis Unified School District. The Buchanan School offers 16 AP courses to its students and various honors prep courses. The school has a good academic record having won various awards for its curricular and extra-curricular activities. As a junior or senior, students have the option to take vocational courses. This helps the student get a head start on specific types of work and begins training for vocational work. This program is called the Cart Program.
